Happy Mother's Day!

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails.
I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp.
I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children.
I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden.
I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder.
I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."
— Marjorie Pay Hinckley

  1. I love this quote by Sister Hinckley, she was and still is such a beautiful example of a Mother, Wife and Sister!

  2. Beautiful quote! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

  3. Sister Hinckley was a wonderfully humane being. She is greatly missed.

  4. I have so much on my plate right now that I needed to happen upon this to remind me of what is important and that I do want to live my life here to the fullest.

My family is getting ready to move to Korea and I am excited but the only thing holding me back is my love for sewing and quilting...but thank goodness the will ship or I wouldn't go!

  5. I've loved this quote from the first time I heard it. Thanks for sharing it with those who may not have heard it. She's an elect lady for sure.
